Respite involves a carer having a break from their role, and transfering caring responsibilities to The Tilery for a short period of time. This may be anything from a couple of hours to a number of weeks. Respite can be essential for carers, loved ones and families as it can help increase wellbeing by helping to reduce some of the stresses involved with caring.
The Tilery has been part of the healthcare profession in Northern Ireland for over 15 years, and many of our staff have had experience as carers for members of their own family. We fully understand what is involved with caring for loved ones and the difficulties that may arise.
Here at The Tilery we offer several types of Respite Care:
This involves a short residential stay in The Tilery nursing home; this may be anything from a couple of days to a number of weeks. Short term residents are able to make full use of nursing home facilities, and all medical and support needs are fully met by our highly qualfied team of staff.
A friendly, qualified member of our domiciliary care team will come out to your home and take over care for a while. Times are arranged to best suit carers and loved ones.
Residential Day Care
The Tilery Nursing Home runs daily activities such as bingo, crafts and singing sessions, whilst providing first class medical care and support. For the carer this allows a short break from their role and for the person being cared for an opportunity to socialise in a welcoming and friendly environment.
